.DISCUSSION...
The Atlantic ridge axis remains north of the area today maintaining
an onshore (east-northeast) flow, with winds increasing to 5-10 mph,
and up to 10-15 mph behind the inland moving east coast sea breeze.
The ridge axis then shifts southward through the weekend and early
next week, gradually leading to a more defined offshore flow. The
east coast sea breeze will move inland slower this weekend and
switch winds to the east-southeast around 10 mph. Strengthening
offshore winds early next week may delay or prevent the sea breeze
from forming. A plume of deeper moisture increases rain chances
gradually beginning today, primarily south of Orlando. A wet pattern
of scattered to locally numerous showers and lightning storms
continues into the weekend and early next week as highest diurnal
rain chances will be focused across the eastern peninsula. There are
no critical RH concerns through the period. Fair to Generally Good
smoke dispersion is forecast this afternoon, becoming Poor to Fair
on Saturday, then back to Generally Good for Sunday. Remaining hot
and humid with highs in the low to mid 90s, and peak heat index
values forecast to exceed 100F areawide.
Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility
reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible
even if fog is not forecast.
