Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Central Florida
National Weather Service Melbourne FL

...EXTREME HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 7 PM EDT
THIS EVENING...
...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 7 PM EDT
THIS EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...

Extreme and dangerous heat expected across east central Florida
today, with hot temperatures and high humidity continuing to
generate hazardous heat conditions through the remainder of the work
week. An Extreme Heat Warning is now in place for today from noon to
7 PM for counties that include areas along and north of the I-4
corridor. Across this region, highs in the upper 90s to near 100
degrees will combine with high humidity to produce peak heat index
values up to 110-115 degrees. Across the remainder of east central
Florida, a Heat Advisory is in effect today for highs in the mid to
upper 90s and peak heat index values up to 108-112 degrees.
Additional Heat Advisories will likely be needed for portions if not
all of east central Florida again Wednesday and into late week.

Shower and storm chances remain near to below normal today (40% or
less), with the highest coverage forecast over the interior. Then,
increasing moisture will lead to near normal chances by Wednesday
(30-50%), with a sea breeze collision over the interior or eastern
half of the peninsula in the late afternoon. Min RH values forecast
to remain above critical levels, with fair to generally good
dispersion each day through midweek.

Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
However, localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or
existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
