Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Central Florida
National Weather Service Melbourne FL
300 PM EDT Tue Aug 11 2026

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...

High pressure meanders over the Florida peninsula through late week,
supporting near to below normal rain chances each afternoon.
Scattered showers and storms (30-50%) are forecast for portions of
the area each day, though most locations will likely remain dry.
That being said, drier air aloft could support a few strong wind
gusts near 50 mph in any storms, as well as lightning strikes and
locally heavy downpours. Any convection is forecast to peak in the
afternoons, then taper off through the late evening. Offshore winds
under 10 mph back S/SE at the coast in the afternoons with the
development of the sea breeze, then return to light overnight. No
min RH concerns, with fair to good dispersion. High temperatures in
the lower to mid-90s and humid conditions will continue to lead to
heat indices over 100 degrees. Will need to monitor the need for
Heat Advisories (heat indices 108+) through the remainder of the
work week.

Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast.
Localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or existing
fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
