Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Central Florida
National Weather Service Melbourne FL
300 PM EDT Sat Jul 19 2025

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 6 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...

The ridge axis of high pressure extending from the Atlantic to
Central Florida slowly drops south, moving into South Florida by
Monday. South to southwesterly flow around the ridge axis remains
weak, with winds becoming light and variable at times, until the sea
breeze develops and moves inland, shifting winds to the E-SE at 10-
15 mph, higher along the coast. Below normal rain and storm chances
continue Sunday, with mainly dry conditions near the coast and only
a 20-30% chance inland (well inland to the south) in the afternoon
and evening. Rain and storm chances increase Monday to 20-50 pct as
deeper moisture ahead of weakening front begins to reach Florida.
Min RHs approach 50% inland, possibly dipping to 45-50 pct Sunday.
Afternoon smoke dispersion Poor to Fair Sunday, and Fair to Good
Monday.

Heat will be a continued cause for concern across east central
Florida through Monday. Afternoon highs are forecast to again climb
into the L-M90s Sunday, and could push towards the M-U90s Monday,
with peak heat indices reaching 102 to 110. A Heat Advisory remains
in effect across Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Volusia, and
Brevard counties until 6 PM today, and additional heat advisories
over the next couple of days cannot be ruled out.

Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
However, localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or
existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
