Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Central Florida
National Weather Service Melbourne FL
300 PM EDT Sun Jul 19 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Tropical Depression Two is forecast to remain well away from the
local area, as it moves westward along the Gulf Coast this week.
Southerly flow will prevail over the next few days, increasing to 10-
15 mph each afternoon with gusts to around 20 mph. Bands of NNE-
moving showers and thunderstorms will remain possible, especially in
the afternoons, locally enhancing wind gusts. Lightning strikes and
localized flooding due to training bands will be additional threats.
Coverage will be widely scattered, with chances decreasing Tuesday,
as drier air moves into the region.

There are no Min RH concerns. Near to slightly above normal
temperatures are forecast each day, with afternoon highs in the low
to mid 90s and peak heat indices of 100-107 degrees. Peak afternoon
smoke dispersion values will be good to very good through Tuesday.

Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility
reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible
even if fog is not forecast.
