Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Central Florida
National Weather Service Melbourne FL
300 PM EDT Mon Jul 21 2025

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 6 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...

High pressure loses its grip drifting away from central FL. Into mid-
week, a weak front will stall north of east central Florida, with
low pressure developing in the northeast Gulf into Wednesday.
Locally, increasing shower and lightning storm chances are expected,
becoming 30-60% this afternoon and 60-80% Tuesday and Wednesday. The
highest coverage will during the afternoon and evening hours, though
chances for morning convection will increase, especially I-4
corridor beginning on Tuesday. Wind gusts up to around 50 mph and
frequent lightning strikes will be possible in stronger storms this
afternoon and evening.

West to southwesterly flow will prevail through Tuesday, limiting
the inland progression of the east coast sea breeze. By Wednesday,
winds are forecast to transition southerly, as the low develops to
the northwest of the area. Hot conditions will continue this
afternoon, combining with humidity supporting peak heat indices of
108 to 112 degrees. A Heat Advisory remains in effect through 6 PM
today for all of east central Florida. Heat indices will moderate
into mid-week, as increasing coverage of showers and storms brings
some relief. No min RH concerns. Fair to Generally Good afternoon
dispersion is forecast.

Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
However, localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or
existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
