.DISCUSSION...
An overall moist airmass continues across the area into this week,
maintaining above normal coverage of mostly diurnal showers and
lightning storms each day (rain chances 70-80% today, 60-70% through
late week). Will likely see earlier initiation at least today
(morning) across the I-4 corridor and south toward the Kissimmee
River. Otherwise, peak coverage remains mid-late afternoon and early
evening during much of the week. A sea breeze collision will occur
today across the eastern peninsula, with daily collisions between
the central/eastern peninsula into the extended. Showers and storms
will be capable of wind gusts to 40-50 mph, occasional to frequent
cloud to ground lightning, and locally heavy rainfall leading to
minor flooding of urban and low lying areas. The east coast sea
breeze will transition winds to the southeast along the coast each
afternoon. Wind speeds will generally be 5-10 mph, but will have the
potential to increase up to 10-15 mph along the coast behind the sea
breeze.
No Min RH concerns as deep moisture will keep RH values generally
above 60 percent into late week. Dispersion values will remain
generally Fair into mid-week as a weak pressure gradient lies across
the area. Temperatures continue in the upper 80s to low 90s with
peak afternoon heat indices above 100F ahead of daily storms.
Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility
reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible
even if fog is not forecast.
