Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Central Florida
National Weather Service Melbourne FL
300 PM EDT Sun Aug 30 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Onshore flow and high moisture will persist through the week, which
will aid in above normal rain chances. Winds will generally be from
the east, but may shift more northeasterly to southeasterly at
times. Speeds 5-10 mph, increasing to around 10 mph behind an early,
quick inland moving, diffuse east coast sea breeze in the
afternoons. Scattered to numerous showers and storms are forecast
each day. Highest chances (50-70%) in the afternoons-evenings, but
showers and storms could develop in the mornings, especially near
the coast. Lower chances (20-40%) will linger into the overnight and
early mornings as bands of onshore-moving showers will be possible.
Primary storm threats will be wind gusts to around 55 mph, frequent
lightning, and locally heavy rainfall leading to minor flooding. No
Min RH concerns through the week, with min RHs forecast to be 60%
or higher. Afternoon dispersion values will be Poor to Fair today
and Monday, and fair to generally good (mainly across the north) on
Tuesday. Seasonably hot with high temperatures in the U80s-M90s, and
peak afternoon peak indices generally in the 100-106F but a few
spots could reach 108F. Heat impacts may increase slightly mid-week.

Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility
reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible
even if fog is not forecast.
