.DISCUSSION...
Scattered to locally numerous afternoon and evening showers and
lightning storms will be possible today and continue each day into
next week. A few strong storms will be possible each day, producing
frequent lightning strikes, gusty winds to 40-50 mph and locally
heavy rainfall. Light west-southwest winds in the morning, will
increase to around 5-10 mph each afternoon. A south to southeast
wind shift should occur along the coast as the east coast sea breeze
moves slowly inland each afternoon, increasing winds to 10-15 mph.
Smoke dispersion will be Generally Good to Very Good Monday and
Tuesday. There are no min RH concerns. Afternoon temperatures in the
low to mid 90s, combined with deep low level moisture will support
peak heat index values between 100-107F, and a Moderate to Major
HeatRisk will affect those without adequate cooling and hydration.
Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility
reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible
even if fog is not forecast.
