.DISCUSSION...
Offshore flow will continue today and into the weekend as a weak
front moves southward and stalls across north Florida. A wetter
pattern will persist (rain chances 70-80%) as a moist airmass
remains in place across the region. Scattered to numerous showers
and storms will shift eastward across central Florida and offshore
during the afternoon and early evening hours. Some stronger storms
will be possible today and into the weekend, with the main threats
being frequent lightning strikes, strong wind gusts to 45-55 mph and
locally heavy rainfall. Highs will remain near to slightly above
normal, mostly in the low 90s, with humid conditions still leading
to peak heat index values around 102-107 degrees ahead of any
showers and storms each day through the weekend.
Winds will be out of the west-southwest around 5-10 mph Friday and
Saturday, but may be a tad stronger around 10 mph on Sunday. The
east coast sea breeze should be able to develop today, mainly south
of the Cape, but will likely be pinned toward the coast. Where it is
able to form and shift inland along the coast, winds will become
onshore, generally out of the east-southeast around 10 mph.
Dispersion values will range from Good to Very Good today and
Saturday, with no Min RH concerns forecast.
Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
However, localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or
existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
