.DISCUSSION...
Southwest flow prevails over the Florida peninsula through the end
of the work week, strengthening today as the pressure gradient
tightens. SW winds 10-15 mph are forecast through Thursday, with
gusts 20-25 mph. Will see winds slacken slightly into Friday, though
gusts near 20 mph will remain possible. Breezy flow will prevent the
east coast sea breeze from developing this afternoon. Isolated to
scattered showers and storms (20-40%) are forecast late morning into
this afternoon, mainly south of Orlando. A wetter pattern (60-80%)
develops Thursday and Friday, as a front stalls north of the area.
Multiple rounds of rainfall are expected, mainly during the
afternoons. However, convection is forecast even during the
overnight hours, beginning overnight tonight. A few strong storms
will be possible, with wind gusts up to 50-55 mph, lightning
strikes, and locally heavy rainfall. Multiple rounds of heavy
rainfall may lead to increasing minor flooding concerns into the
weekend.
No min RH concerns, as moisture increases over the area. High
temperatures in the 90s are forecast each day, despite increasing
cloud and shower coverage. Heat indices are expected to reach 105-
110 degrees today, with a Heat Advisory in effect from Orange and
northern Brevard Counties northward. Peak heat indices moderate from
Thursday onward, but remain up to 100-105 degrees. Generally good
dispersion today. Then, good morning dispersions become fair into
the afternoons late week, as shower and storm coverage increases.
Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility
reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible
even if fog is not forecast.
