04/14/2026 Sauk WI NWS Storm Survey

NWS Storm Survey: Estimated 90mph downburst
winds. Appears to be from downburst winds as
most damage appears to be pushed down with
no signs of lofted debris. The hardest hit
area was in the Forest Subdivision west of
Veterans Memorial Park. This area sits at a
higher elevation and it looks like the wind
caught a lot of pine trees and either
uprooted or snapped them. The two buildings
that had direct wind damage to them were the
Milwaukee Valve facility and a Sanitation
building. The Sanitation building had its
north wall blown in, but none of the roofing
material. For the Valve building, it appears
that the corner of a roof peeled back with
some of the insulation blowing onto the
apartment complex to the southeast. This is
the only material that was seen lofted but
its possible that due to the higher level of
the building that the insulation just blew
sideways. Radar also is inconclusive for any
sort of rotation or debris signature.

04/14/2026 Dane WI NWS Storm Survey

NWS Storm Survey: EF-1 tornado, estimated
peak winds of 105 mph. 75 yards wide.
Tornado appears to have started west of I-39
along Church Rd where it tracked to the
north side before hitting a farmstead along
Highway 73. Two metal barn structures were
completely destroyed with sheet metal from
these buildings found in the trees in the
far farm hill. A cement silo was also lifted
up and had 3 large chunks of the cap broken
off of it. The tornado appears to have gone
southeast toward County Road A before ending
near Woodside School Rd. Extensive straight
            line/rear flank downdraft damage occurred
about a mile or two to the south of the
tornado with one farm shed destroyed along
Hwy 73 south of Thronson Rd. Sheet metal
from this building appeared to be tumbled
into the nearby field to the east.
