.DISCUSSION...

A strong cold front will move southeast through the area by the
middle morning hours, with gusty north to northeast winds
expected behind the front this morning into early this afternoon.
Winds will gradually weaken later this afternoon into tonight, as
high pressure moves across the region.

Minimum relative humidity values of 30 to 35 percent are forecast
across the sandy soil areas toward the Dells and Montello this
afternoon. If temperatures rise a couple of degrees warmer than
forecast, then minimum relative humidity values down to around 25
percent are possible.

35 to 40 percent minimum relative humidity values are anticipated
elsewhere away from Lake Michigan, but could again drop to around
30 percent if temperatures warm a few degrees above the forecast.
Mixing heights should rise above 3000 feet AGL away from Lake
Michigan this afternoon, with good smoke dispersal values this
morning becoming fair to good this afternoon. It will be much
cooler near Lake Michigan today.

Light east to southeast winds are expected across the area on
Wednesday, with much warmer temperatures well inland versus near
Lake Michigan. Minimum relative humidity values of 33 to 38
percent are anticipated well inland, and again could drop into the
24 to 29 percent range if temperatures warm a few degrees higher
than forecast. Mixing heights will be below 3000 feet AGL well
inland on Wednesday, with poor to fair smoke dispersal values.
