.DISCUSSION...

High pressure will continue to linger over the state and weak
today. Fog and low clouds are developing early this morning. There
is a potential for some patch dense fog to develop mainly south
and west of Madison. Any patchy dense fog is likely to occur in
low lying areas such as marsh lands and river valleys. Light and
variable winds early this morning will remain light and become
southwesterly shortly after sunrise. Fog will dissipate shortly
after sunrise as well.

A cold front will move southeast through the region tonight into
early Saturday morning, with scattered showers and a few
thunderstorms possible. Winds will become west to northwest behind
the front Saturday afternoon and increase in speed. Minimum
relative humidity values of 50 to 60 percent and good smoke
dispersal values are expected Saturday. Gusty west to northwest
winds are anticipated into early next week.
