Wisconsin River At Portage affecting Columbia County. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. West Lane Road in the Long Lake area is closed with about 4 feet of water over it in places. County Highway V and Oak Knoll Road in the Town of Dekorra have water up to the edge of the pavement. A few homes in the Town of Dekorra area near the river have water in the first floor and there is also flooding of outbuildings and yards. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:30 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 17.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.7 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:30 AM CDT Thursday was 17.8 feet. - Forecast...The river will fall below flood stage to 16.4 feet this evening. It will then rise above flood stage tomorrow morning to 17.1 feet. It will then rise to 17.2 feet early Saturday afternoon.
