The National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Dane County in south central Wisconsin...

* Until 400 AM CDT.

* At 117 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Madison, Sun Prairie, Fitchburg, Middleton, Stoughton, Waunakee,
  Verona, Oregon, McFarland, Monona, Mount Horeb, Edgerton, Marshall,
  Cottage Grove, Cross Plains, Belleville, Deerfield, Mazomanie,
  Shorewood Hills and Cambridge.

  Story Creek, Sugar River, Maunesha River, Williams-barneveld Creek,
  Murphy Creek, Bohn Creek, Ward Creek, Ross Crossing Creek, Badfish
  Creek, Gordon Creek, Mount Vernon Creek, Rock River, Token Creek,
  Elvers Creek, Mud Creek, Saunders Creek, Stony Brook, Allen Creek,
  Little Door Creek, Swan Creek, Yahara River, Starkweather Creek,
  Syftestad Creek, West Branch Sugar River, Koshkonong Creek, Murphys
  Creek, Vermont Creek, Little Sugar River, Halfway Prairie Creek,
  Primrose Branch, Rutland Branch, Nine Springs Creek, Deer Creek,
  East Branch Pecatonica River, Badger Mill Creek, Spring Creek,
  Pheasant Branch, West Branch Blue Mounds Creek and Black Earth
  Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
