...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 PM EST
FOR SOUTHEASTERN HYDE AND SOUTHEASTERN DARE COUNTIES...

At 117 PM EST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Hatteras Island Fishing Pier to near Avon to near
Ocracoke Lighthouse, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Up to 70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
         homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Frisco, Buxton, Avon, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Hatteras Ferry
Terminal, Ocracoke Ferry Terminal, Ocracoke Lighthouse, Avon Pier,
and Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in
Newport.

Wind damage with these storms will occur before any rain or
lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover.
SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY inside a sturdy structure and stay away from
windows.
