* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southeastern Hyde County in eastern North Carolina...
  Southeastern Dare County in eastern North Carolina...

* Until 130 PM EST.

* At 1239 PM EST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 6 miles east of Bodie Island Lighthouse to 10 miles
  northwest of Frisco to near Portsmouth Village, moving east at 30
  mph.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
           mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Frisco, Buxton, Avon, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Portsmouth Village,
  Hatteras Ferry Terminal, Ocracoke Ferry Terminal, Ocracoke
  Lighthouse, Avon Pier, and Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Please send your reports of hail and/or wind damage, including trees
or large limbs downed, by calling the National Weather Service office
in Newport at 1-800-889-6889.

Wind damage with these storms will occur before any rain or
lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover.
SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY inside a sturdy structure and stay away from
windows.
