...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN JONES...SOUTHERN
LENOIR...WEST CENTRAL CRAVEN...NORTHWESTERN ONSLOW AND NORTHEASTERN
DUPLIN COUNTIES THROUGH 230 PM EDT...

At 158 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Pleasant Hill, or 14 miles south of Kinston, moving northeast at 30
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Kinston, Phillips Crossroads, Deep Run, Pleasant Hill, Wyse Fork,
Pink Hill, Dover, Hargetts Crossroads, and Trenton.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
