...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN CRAVEN...
SOUTHEASTERN PITT AND WEST CENTRAL BEAUFORT COUNTIES THROUGH 930 PM
EDT...

At 900 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Black Jack, or 7 miles east of Greenville, moving southeast at 20
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Greenville, Washington, Winterville, Ayden, River Road, Grifton,
Shelmerdine, Calico, Black Jack, Fort Barnwell, Wilmar, Chocowinity,
Washington Park, Grimesland, Simpson, and Gardnerville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for
eastern North Carolina.
