...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN GREENE...NORTHWESTERN
LENOIR AND NORTH CENTRAL DUPLIN COUNTIES THROUGH 715 PM EDT...

At 622 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles northeast of Beautancus, or 8 miles east of Mount Olive, moving
east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Kinston, La Grange, Deep Run, Institute, Albertson, and Sandy Bottom.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
eastern North Carolina.
