...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Albemarle Sound...

At 535 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. This
thunderstorm was located 8 nm southwest of Bull Bay/scuppernong
River, or 9 nm south of Albemarle Sound, moving north at 15 knots.

The strong thunderstorm will be near...
  Albemarle Sound, Bull Bay/scuppernong River, and Highway 94 Bridge
  around 550 PM EDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes.

Intense lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open
water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal
objects.

Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
forecast office.
