Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
357 AM EDT Tue Mar 11 2025

.DISCUSSION....
Strong low pressure departs to the east today with high pressure
building in behind this departing low. Bringing fair weather to
ENC by this afternoon. While winds will be gusty this morning,
they should quickly ease by this afternoon. While RH`s will range
from 25-35% this afternoon these lower RH`s should not coincide
with the gusty winds this morning keeping fire danger lower.

High pressure remains in control of the weather into
this weekend bringing fair weather to ENC. Winds will remain light
on Wednesday with RH`s closer to 30% before southerly flow brings
in more moisture allowing RH`s to climb into the 40% plus.
