Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
339 AM EDT Wed Aug 26 2026

.DISCUSSION...
No significant fire weather concerns are forecast over the
next few days. Benign weather and a drier airmass remain in
place today. Eerly winds early become SEerly this afternoon,
further veering to Serly into this weekend ahead of the next
wave of low pressure traveling along the stalled
boundary offshore, potentially pushing it ashore ahead of the
next series of fronts to cross ENC late week and into the weekend.
