Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
328 AM EDT Fri Aug 1 2025

.DISCUSSION....
Fire concerns are expected to remain LOW over the next couple of
days.

Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will lead to an
increased risk of wetting rainfall over the next 24-36 hours. A
cold front will move through today with a modest north to
northeast wind developing late in the day and into tonight.
Northeasterly flow then lasts into the weekend. This will lead to
lower temperatures, but keep relative humidities moderately high.
The wetting rainfall plus moderately high relative humidities
should keep fire concerns at a minimum through this weekend.
