Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
146 PM EDT Thu Jul 3 2025

.DISCUSSION....
Isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms expected
this afternoon along the sea breeze as frontal boundary stalls over
the region today, with the best chances along and east of Highway 17.
High pressure will then build in from the west through the
holiday weekend with the frontal boundary stalling off the Southeast
coast. There`s a 50% chance for tropical development along this boundary
later this weekend, which could bring increased PoPs into next week.
