Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
407 AM EDT Thu Apr 3 2025

.DISCUSSION....
High pressure will remain centered off the coast through the end
of the week bringing temps well above normal along with higher
relative humidity. Widely scattered showers will lift across
Eastern NC this morning but rainfall amounts will be very light
with most area not receiving measurable amounts. While well
above normal to near record warmth will continue to help
accelerate greenup, it will also continue to further the drought
due to a continued lack of appreciable rainfall. The next chance
of wetting precipitation looks to come late this weekend or early
next week.
