Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
250 AM EDT Sun Sep 13 2026

.DISCUSSION...
Significant fire concerns are not anticipated over the next few
days.

High relative humidity and a chance of wetting rainfall will help
to keep fire concerns low through today. Monday, a cold front will
move south through the area with a notable northerly wind shift, as
well as a notable increase in winds (15-25 mph). Much drier air will
move in behind the front as well.
