Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
1226 AM EDT Thu Oct 2 2025

.DISCUSSION....
Strong high pressure will build in from the north into the
weekend bringing with it a prolonged period of gusty NE winds
and cooler and rain free conditions. Today, NE winds will gust to
20 to 25 mph inland and 25 to 35 mph along the coast. Tomorrow
NE winds will gust to 15 to 20 mph inland and 20 to 30 mph along
the coast. Relative humidity values in the 50 to 60 percent
