Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
300 PM EST Mon Dec 15 2025

.DISCUSSION....
Dry, arctic high pressure will continue to work its way into the
region through tonight, with winds continuing to abate through the
afternoon and evening before becoming light and variable overnight.
Min RH`s will range 25-35% this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon.
While these low RH`s would normally result in elevated fire weather
concerns, winds are expected to remain light (10 mph or less), thus
limiting fire weather concerns. Min RH`s improve to 40-50% Wednesday
and 60%+ Thursday amidst strengthening southwesterly return flow.
