Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
144 PM EDT Tue Sep 23 2025

.DISCUSSION....
Fire danger concerns appear LOW over the next few days.

Light southerly winds this afternoon may decouple overnight, and
remain out of the south through Wednesday. The change to southerly winds
will lead to improved minimum humidities across the coastal plain,
increasing to 45-55 percent on Wednesday. Despite the recent stretch of
dry weather, a lack of appreciable wind should keep the risk of fire
weather concerns low.
