Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
227 AM EDT Sat Sep 12 2026

.DISCUSSION...
Significant fire concerns are not anticipated over the next few
days.

High relative humidities will continue through the weekend. The
increased humidity and instability will support a risk of
thunderstorms each day through the weekend as well. A cold front
will move through Sunday night with drier conditions and a switch
to northerly winds expected for the first half of next week.
