Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
337 PM EDT Sat May 24 2025

.DISCUSSION....
Over the next few days, relative humidities will be the lowest
today, then steadily trend higher through early next week. A weak
cold front will move through tonight which will lead to a
northerly wind shift. The wind direction will then vary quite a
bit over the next couple of days as tonight`s front waffles north
and south in the vicinity of ENC. That front will support an
increased chance of showers and thunderstorms, including wetting
rainfall, through early next week. Looking ahead, an unsettled
pattern looks to continue through the upcoming week.
