Fire Weather Forecast for southern Oregon and northern California
National Weather Service Medford, OR
226 PM PDT Tue Aug 12 2025

...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM TO 8 PM PDT TODAY
FOR STRONG GUSTY WIND AND LOW RH FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 620, 622,
AND 624...

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM TO 8 PM PDT WEDNESDAY FOR
STRONG GUSTY WIND AND LOW RH FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 620, 622 AND
624...

...Isolated critical conditions over portions of northern
California and eastern Lake County today and Wednesday...

.DISCUSSION...Dry conditions will continue through the week with
temperatures gradually cooling to near seasonal normals. A dry
front will pass through the region today into Wednesday bringing
increased winds. These winds combined with low daytime RHs will
lead to critical fire weather conditions for portions of the area
this afternoon/evening and again Wednesday. By Thursday,
increasing trends in RH and cooler temperatures will limit fire
weather concerns. Friday into the weekend, a stronger front will
move through the region, bringing bring below normal temperatures
and precipitation chances to areas west of the Cascades and north
of the OR/CA border, highest along the coast and in the Umpqua
Basin.
