Fire Weather Forecast for southern Oregon and northern California
National Weather Service Medford, OR
516 AM PDT Fri Aug 1 2025

...Isolated to scattered thunderstorms expected through the weekend...

...Isolated areas of near critical winds/low RH possible across
the Modoc and East Side on Sunday...

.DISCUSSION...Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected in
the afternoons/evenings through the weekend, with a relative lull
in activity on Saturday. The best chance for scattered storms
today will be along the Cascades and in portions of Fire zone 280,
with isolated storms possible in the Illinois/Applegate/Rogue
Valleys. A stronger system will bring showers and thunderstorms to
northern California and east of the Cascades on Sunday. Gusty
winds Sunday afternoon could combine with low RHs and result in
areas of near critical conditions east of the Cascades and across
the Modoc. A dry, more stable pattern is expected next week, with
thunderstorms dropping out of the forecast by Monday.
