.DISCUSSION...An offshore trough will impact the region today
through Saturday, bringing periods critical fire weather conditions
due to gusty winds/low RH. Expect enhanced winds today, with
critical conditions in the Shasta Valley and isolated critical
conditions east of the Cascades. More widespread critical
conditions are expected Friday and Saturday as gusty winds peak
and combine with low daytime humidities. Thunder potential is
limited to isolated (10-15%) for Friday, then shifts northward on
Saturday. More typical summer conditions return Sunday into early
next week, with periods of enhanced afternoon winds possible.
