Fire Weather Forecast for southern Oregon and northern California
National Weather Service Medford, OR
215 PM PDT Sat Aug 9 2025

...RED FLAG WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM PDT SUNDAY MORNING
FOR STRONG GUSTY WIND AND LOW RH THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING, THEN
EAST WINDS AND POOR RH RECOVERY TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING FOR
FIRE WEATHER ZONE 618...

...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
8 PM PDT THIS EVENING FOR STRONG GUSTY WIND AND LOW RH FOR FIRE
WEATHER ZONES 620 AND 622...

...Gusty east to northeast winds with moderate to locally poor
overnight relative humidity recoveries near and at the ridges in
Fire zones 619 and 280 through tonight...

.DISCUSSION...Dry weather will continue through next week.
Afternoon temperatures will trend hotter through this weekend,
peaking Sunday and Monday. Gusty afternoon/early evening breezes
across the Illinois and Rogue valleys coupled with low relative
humidity will result in critical fire weather conditions today.
Meanwhile, gusty east to northeast winds across mid-slopes and
ridges will bring moderate to locally poor overnight recoveries in
Fire zones 618, 619, and 280 through tonight. Winds in the Rogue
and Illinois Valleys will be lower Sunday and Monday but it will
be hot with low afternoon humidities. Eastside areas will likely
see elevated fire weather concerns middle of next week, but will
monitor for critical conditions as this may come to fruition.
