...Statewide Tornado Drill will be conducted Wednesday, February 5
as part of Florida Severe Weather Awareness Week...

Governor Ron DeSantis, in cooperation with the National Weather
Service and the Florida Division of Emergency Management, has
proclaimed the week of February 3rd through 7th as Florida Severe
Weather Awareness Week.

As part of this week, a statewide tornado drill is scheduled for
Wednesday, February 5. At 10 AM on February 5, the National Weather
Service will issue a TEST Tornado Warning. This test warning will
only be broadcast on NOAA Alert radios as a routine weekly test
(RWT) message, NOT as a live warning. This will not trigger the
Emergency Alert System, nor will it sound an alert on most NOAA
Weather Radio receivers unless they are configured to alarm during a
routine weekly test. Those planning on participating in the drill on
Wednesday are encouraged to turn on the weather broadcast feature of
your NOAA weather radio receiver a few minutes before 10 AM in order
to hear the test warning message. If you don`t have a NOAA Weather
Radio, you can simply activate your drill at 10 AM. The tornado
drill will be considered over at 10:30 AM.

This test Tornado Warning will replace the regularly scheduled
Routine Weekly Test message normally sent at 11 AM each Wednesday.
