...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN LAFAYETTE...
CHICKASAW...CALHOUN AND SOUTHWESTERN PONTOTOC COUNTIES THROUGH 1215
PM CDT...

At 1140 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Banner, or 10 miles east of Water Valley, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Houston, Bruce, Calhoun City, Vardaman, Derma, Pittsboro, Slate
Springs, Pyland, Randolph, Banner, Trebloc, Houlka, Paris, New
Houlka, Algoma, Big Creek, Woodland, Robbs, Thorn, and Reid.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 400 PM CDT for
northeastern and northwestern Mississippi.
