.DISCUSSION...
(This afternoon through next Friday)
Issued at 1027 AM CDT Sat Oct 11 2025

Overall, a persistence forecast continues across the Mid-South
with temperatures currently residing in the upper 60s to low 70s
under a sunny sky. Very little changes are noted from the previous
forecast, with a deep, upper-level trough draped across the
region. High temperatures are expected to remain near to just a
hair above normal through the weekend with this regime, with highs
spanning the upper 70s to low 80s. Patchy fog may develop again
tonight and tomorrow night, mainly near the sunrise hours.

Into next week, an upper-level ridge will begin to develop across
the area with subtle WAA to the region. Expect for conditions to
remain dry, but will see a small uptick in our temperatures with
highs returning to the low to mid 70s across the region by the
middle of the week. Guidance begins to become spread near the end
of next week, as models disagree with a deepening trough over the
western half of the U.S. As such, there is little confidence in
the forecast heading into next weekend.
