...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT EAST CENTRAL EDDY AND CENTRAL
LEA COUNTIES THROUGH 1000 PM MDT...
At 928 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 18
miles west of Monument, or 25 miles west of Eunice, moving south at 5
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Hobbs, Monument, Nadine, Humble City, Halfway, Lea County Regional
Airport, Industrial Airpark, and Oil Center.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
