Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
345 PM CDT Thu May 22 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Elevated to near-critical fire weather conditions are expected
through the weekend over Southeast New Mexico and adjacent areas
of West Texas, mainly due to single-digit minimum relative
humidity each afternoon coincident with ERCs at or above the 75th
percentile. 20-ft winds will also range between 10 to 20 mph at
times. A cold front Sunday night and Monday will alleviate fire
weather concerns the rest of the week. Recovery overnight will be
poor in the Sacramento Foothills, but moderate to excellent
elsewhere.

Service Office.
