495 FNUS54 KMAF 222045 FWFMAF Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX 345 PM CDT Thu May 22 2025 .DISCUSSION... Elevated to near-critical fire weather conditions are expected through the weekend over Southeast New Mexico and adjacent areas of West Texas, mainly due to single-digit minimum relative humidity each afternoon coincident with ERCs at or above the 75th percentile. 20-ft winds will also range between 10 to 20 mph at times. A cold front Sunday night and Monday will alleviate fire weather concerns the rest of the week. Recovery overnight will be poor in the Sacramento Foothills, but moderate to excellent elsewhere. && For point-specific forecasts please see the Point Fire Weather Matrix product issued by the Midland/Odessa National Weather Service Office.
