Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
1253 AM CDT Wed Aug 20 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Min RH above critical 15%, good to excellent overnight recovery,
fuel ERCs below 75th percentile, and humid easterly winds keep
fire weather conditions low throughout the period. There is still
a low probability of fire starts from lightning and gusty, erratic
winds in any storms. However, high fuel moisture and vegetation
greenery are expected to limit ignition, intensity, and spread of
any flames.
