Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
208 PM CDT Thu Apr 3 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Today is the last day of elevated fire weather conditions until
next week. An upper level low will bring wetting rains to much of
the area starting tonight. Highest rain chances will be from
southeastern New Mexico across the northern Permian Basin and
decreasing to the south. There will be a chance for lightning
starts and gusty winds associated with thunderstorms could cause
brief erratic fire behavior, though conditions will quickly
improve under generally modest winds and moist conditions.

Service Office.
