Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
146 AM CDT Thu Oct 9 2025

.DISCUSSION...

While overall fire weather conditions remain minimal, continued
dry conditions will maintain the potential for IA. This is
especially true where drier fuels exist east of the Pecos River.
Winds will remain fairly light the next couple days as high
pressure builds back over the region. Winds increase this weekend
ahead of our next storm system. Expect dry conditions before low
chances for precipitation return to the area early next week.
