071 FNUS54 KMAF 221942 FWFMAF Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX 142 PM CST Sat Feb 22 2025 .DISCUSSION... Temperatures remain cool across the area today before a warming trend commences late this weekend into early next week. Critically low minRH values (as low as 5% in some spots) are expected across much of our region each day Sunday through Tuesday, especially over locations along and west of the Pecos. 20-ft winds will generally remain under critical criteria, and ERCs will remain low. While fire weather concerns will be elevated due to low relative humidity late this weekend and early next week, fuels continue to remain sparse. Recoveries will be moderate to excellent tonight. Overnight recovery will generally be poor along and west of the Pecos late this weekend into early next week. && For point-specific forecasts please see the Point Fire Weather Matrix product issued by the Midland/Odessa National Weather Service Office.
