Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
142 PM CDT Wed Jun 4 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns remain low through much of the the period.
MinRH values are expected to remain above critical thresholds,
accompanied by generally light 20ft winds and improving ERCs
(below the 50th percentile for most). Low to medium (20-50%) rain
chances return to the forecast this afternoon through Friday. Best odds
for rainfall look to lie primarily over the higher terrain and along
the Pecos River. Elevated fire weather concerns appear to creep back
up this weekend into early next week across southeastern New
Mexico and the higher terrain in far west Texas.
