Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
146 AM CST Fri Jan 31 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Widespread well above normal temperatures and near to below
critical relative humidity is expected through the weekend into
early next week. This may create pockets of elevated fire weather
in the driest locations, mainly west of the Pecos River. This
threat is expected to be minimized by recent moisture, light
winds, and above normal fuel moisture. Overnight recovery will
generally be poor to poor for most areas across the western half
of the area into next week with slightly better recovery to the
east. ERCs remain near the 50th percentile at this time, but
these may begin to increase with the expected warm and dry
conditions.

Service Office.
