Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
132 PM CDT Sun May 31 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns are low through this week. While critical min
RHs do develop again today over westernmost parts of the area, they
are not overlapped by breezy/critical winds. However, we will be
keeping an eye out for dry lightning with isolated storms that
develop this afternoon. Meanwhile, ERCs largely remain near or
below the 50th percentile thanks to recent wetting rains. Rain
chances increase again this week. Min RHs trend up, winds stay
light, and overnight recoveries will be good to excellent, further
limiting fire weather concerns.
