Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
116 PM CDT Mon Jul 21 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Min RH above critical 15%, good to excellent overnight recovery,
and ERCs below 50th percentile maintain low fire weather
conditions despite warmer and drier weather through early next
week and occasionally gusty 20-ft winds above 20 miles per hour.
There is a low but non negligible probability of fire starts over
western higher terrain of Southeast New Mexico and Davis Mountains
from lightning and gusty, erratic winds. However, high fuel
moisture and vegetation greenery will limit intensity and spread
of any flames.
