Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
304 AM CST Mon Nov 10 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Colder than average temperatures today persist, keeping fire
weather conditions low. Development of surface high pressure to
the east of the area and falling surface pressures as lee
troughing attempts to establish over Southeast New Mexico poses
elevated fire weather conditions and RFTIs 3 to 5 over Sacramento
Foothills into Guadalupes, Delawares, and Davis Mountains. Light
20-ft winds keep fire weather conditions low despite warmer than
average temperatures rest of the week, until a strong Pacific cold
front Friday into Saturday lead to elevated fire weather
conditions. Min RH above critical precludes critical fire weather
conditions next weekend, although gusty 20-ft west/northwest winds
and ERCs 50th-74th percentile in dry fuels will keep elevated to
RFD conditions present, especially over higher terrain of
Sacramento Foothills and Guadalupes and Delawares into Davis
Mountains, where winds are forecast to be stronger due to the
higher elevation.

Matrix product issued by the Midland/Odessa National Weather
