Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
117 PM CDT Mon Oct 6 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Min RH above critical 15%, good to excellent overnight recovery,
and fuel moisture largely remaining below 75th percentile will
keep fire weather conditions low. Gusty winds easterly upslope
winds over higher terrain Wednesday into Thursday may pose some
concerns for any initial attack fires that ignite in drier fuels.
Lack of substantial rainfall for the past few weeks and continued
warm and dry weather for most of the period apart from Tuesday and
Wednesday will increase potential for ignition, although overall
risk will remain low. Lighter winds after Thursday into the
weekend should limit greater fire weather concerns.
